If possible, consider making your travel plans to arrive and depart Martha's Vineyard during the mid-week (Monday - Thursday). You'll miss heavy weekend bridge traffic -- as well as large crowds at ferry docks and airports.
Martha's Vineyard is located within 85 miles of two major airports: Boston, Massachusetts (Logan International Airport) and Providence, Rhode Island (T.F. Green International Airport). There is passenger ferry service from New Bedford, Woods Hole, Falmouth, Hyannis and Nantucket, Massachusetts as well as from Quonset, Rhode Island. There is year-round Martha's Vineyard car ferry service from Woods Hole, which is located on Cape Cod.
